Bulgaria ranks 18th among 125 countries in business environment index

Bulgaria ranks 18th in the world and 10th in Europe among 125 countries in this year's edition of the Innovators Business Environment Index (IBEI) 2026, prepared by StartupBlink and published at the end of January, BTA has reported. The country's overall score is 73,631 points, which gives it the best position in Southeast Europe.

Among the European countries ahead of Bulgaria in the ranking are countries such as the United Kingdom (3rd place with 93.9 points), Switzerland (4th place with 86,901 points), the Netherlands (7th place with 85,715 points).

In the IBEI 2026 report, Bulgaria is identified as a leader in the European Union in terms of business incentives. According to this indicator, the country is ranked fifth in the world and first in the EU, based on the analysis of fiscal and financial conditions.
