BTA's long-time correspondent in Türkiye, Nahide Deniz, will participate in a conversation about her new book "440 Days. Atatürk in Bulgaria". The event will take place on February 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sofia Balkan Palace hotel in the capital, BTA reported.

The book explores Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's stay in Bulgaria. The then future president of the Republic of Turkey arrived in Sofia in the fall of 1913 after being appointed the first military attaché of the Ottoman Empire in the country. His mission lasted exactly 440 days. Among his tasks was the extremely difficult rapprochement between Bulgarian and Turkish politics. Until the end of his life, he kept a precious memory of the time spent in the country.

The author, who was born in Bulgaria, uses her advantage of speaking both Bulgarian and Turkish, which allows her to unite sources from both sides of the border.
