Bulgaria participates in the largest tourism forum in the Eastern Mediterranean

The traditional Eastern Mediterranean International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (EMITT) has opened its doors in Istanbul. EMITT 2026 will last until February 7. The 29th edition of the largest tourism fair for the Eastern Mediterranean, the Balkans and the Middle East is taking place at a new address this year - at the Istanbul Fair Center (IFM İstanbul Fuar Merkezi). 1,316 tour operators from 78 countries have applied to participate. Over 25,000 visitors are expected.

Bulgaria is a regular participant in EMITT. The Ministry of Tourism is participating with a stand covering an area of ​​153 sq m. The Bulgarian pavilion will feature 16 companies offering spa tourism, winter and summer holiday tourism. Bircan Sali, who is the manager for the Turkish market of Albena AD, told BTA that in 2025 they achieved a 45% growth in holidaymakers from Turkey in the Bulgarian resort.
