On Friday, minimum temperatures will be between minus 2 and 0°C in Northwestern Bulgaria and up to 5-7°C in the southeastern parts of the country. Around 1°C is expected in Sofia. Over Southwestern Bulgaria it will be mostly sunny, but after noon cloudiness will increase and thicken, and rain will start from the west. In the northwestern regions, conditions for ice formation will persist. Winds will be light to calm.
Maximum temperatures will vary widely, from 3-5°C in Northwestern Bulgaria, where it will remain cloudy, to 13-15°C in the extreme southwestern and southeastern regions. In the capital Sofia daytime highs will be around 9°C.
Along the Black Sea coast it will be cloudy with occasional rain. Maximum air temperatures will be 9-11°C. Sea water temperatures are between 5 and 7°C. Sea waves will be 2-3 on the Beaufort scale.
In the mountains it will be mostly cloudy, with temporary breaks in the cloud cover over the massifs of Western Bulgaria, but after noon cloudiness will again increase and thicken, bringing rain, and above 1,700 meters – snow. A moderate wind will blow, and in the Eastern Balkan Mountains, Strandzha and Sakar - strong at times, from the southwest. The maximum temperature at 1,200 m above sea level will be around 6°C, and at 2,000 meters – about 1°C.
On Saturday it will be mostly cloudy, but without significant precipitation. The wind will turn from the northwest and will be light to moderate. Minimum temperatures will be between 1 and 6°C, and maximum temperatures between 10 and 15°C, again lower in Northwestern Bulgaria.
