President calls from Milan “to keep politics away from sports”

The Bulgarian participants in the Winter Olympics are great professionals who work hard and should be proud of their achievements. With these words, President Iliana Iotova addressed the Bulgarian athletes who will participate in the XXV Olympic Winter Games in Milan and Cortina.

Together with the President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, Vessela Lecheva, the Head of State was a guest at the official reception hosted by the International Olympic Committee for heads of state and leaders of national Olympic committees. “Let politics stay away from sports, as athletes do not deserve this because of their enormous work, pressure, and big dreams for medals. Let us shake off political passions,” Iliana Iotova said.
