On February 9 and 10, the "European Jazz Horizons" start
with two intriguing concerts and a master class, presenting renowned
performers from the contemporary European jazz scene.
Ondřej Štveráček - one of the famous Czech musicians, arrives
in Bulgaria for the first time. Together with his quartet, he
presents a special program dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the
birth of legendary John Coltrane. The musicians define their style as
post-Coltrane bop - deeply connected to traditions, but with strongly
expressed modern charge and clearly recognizable creative aesthetics.
The program includes original compositions by Štveráček and
selected works from Coltrane's repertoire, as well as jazz standards.
