Warm spell to continue, rain expected in Southern and Eastern Bulgaria

On Thursday, the lowest temperatures will be between 0°C and 5°C, in Sofia around 0°C. During the day, there will be rainfall in most of Southern Bulgaria, spreading to Eastern Bulgaria in the afternoon. Cloud cover will temporarily break up during the day. In Eastern Bulgaria and along the Struma Valley, there will be a light to moderate southerly wind. During the night into Friday, precipitation will stop in Eastern Bulgaria, but new rainfall will begin from the southwest, which after midnight will spread across Southern Bulgaria. Maximum temperatures will range between 7°C and 12°C, around 10°C in the capital city.

Along the Black Sea coast, it will be mostly cloudy, with rain in the afternoon, which will begin to taper off from the south toward the end of the day. There will be a light to moderate southerly wind. Daytime highs will be around 7°C –8°C. The seawater temperature is 6°C-7°C. Sea state 2–3 on the Beaufort scale.

There will be considerable cloudiness in the mountains. Rain is expected, turning to snow above 2,000 meters. Heavier precipitation is expected in the Rhodopes, Strandzha, Sakar and the Eastern Balkan Mountains. In the afternoon, precipitation in the massifs of Western and Central Bulgaria will temporarily cease. There will be a light to moderate southerly wind. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 meters will be around 7°C, at 2,000 meters around 1°C.

On Friday, it will be cloudy, with rain in many places, heavier in the Rila–Rhodopes region and in the central parts of the country. The lowest temperatures will remain nearly unchanged, while maximum temperatures will slightly decrease. Daytime highs will range between 4°C and 9°C, up to 12°C in the southeastern regions.
