Bulgarian PM Zhelyazkov to attend EU summit in Liege

Outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov is set to attend an informal European Council meeting on Feb. 12 in Liege, focusing on bolstering the bloc’s economic standing.

The discussions will primarily center on EU competitiveness and the strengthening of the single market, viewed by leaders as a vital engine for investment, innovation, and sustained economic growth.

Leaders are also expected to weigh the need for corporate consolidation across strategic sectors, including digital technology, telecommunications, capital markets, and energy. The move aims to ensure EU businesses have the scale and resources necessary to fund innovation and compete effectively on the global stage.
