A protest titled “Enough bodies! Enough lies! Mitov and Sarafov out!” was held last night in front of the Ministry of Interior building. The event was organized by the civic association BOEC.

The protesters demanded the removal from office of outgoing Interior Minister Daniel Mitov, acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov, as well as the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior and the directors of the General Directorate National Police and the General Directorate Combating Organized Crime. They called for the Ministry of Interior and the Prosecutor’s Office to be headed by people who have public trust and demanded a thorough investigation into the “Petrohan” case to establish the truth.

The protest began with a minute of silence in memory of the six people who died in the ''Petrohan'' case. According to the protesters, the institutions have remained silent about the case for eight days.

“Instead of counting convictions, we are counting corpses. The only thing the Ministry of Interior can do is carry out the orders of its masters and rig elections”, said BOEC leader Georgi Georgiev at the protest.
