Cloudy skies are expected in Bulgaria over the next 24 hours. During the night, there will be fog in some areas of northwestern Bulgaria. After midnight, rain will begin from the southwest. During the day, the rainfall will cover most of the country. The precipitation will be significant in many places in the southern regions, and in the southeastern parts of the country there will also be thunderstorms.
A light to moderate wind will blow from the north-northeast, temporarily strong in the eastern regions, while in the Danubian Plain it will come from the west.
In most areas, minimum temperatures will range between 0°C and 5°C, around 2°C in Sofia, and maximum temperatures will be between 5°C and 10°C, around 7°C in Sofia.
In the mountains, it will be cloudy. Rain will fall in the lower areas, and snow above 1500-1600 meters altitude. Precipitation will be significant in the Rila-Rhodope region, Strandzha, and Sakar mountains. A moderate and temporarily strong wind will blow from the north-northeast. The maximum temperature at 1,200 meters will be around 4°C, and at 2,000 meters around minus 1°C.
Along the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy, and rain will fall in many areas. A moderate and temporarily strong wind will blow from the north-northeast. Maximum temperatures will be between 8°C and 9°C, and sea water temperatures will be 5°C–7°C. The sea state will be 2-3 on the Beaufort scale.
In the Balkans, rain will fall in many areas across the peninsula, and in southern Greece and the eastern Aegean Sea it will be accompanied by thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain high for mid-February.
In Athens it will be 18°C, in Istanbul 15°C, in Belgrade 11°C, and in Bucharest 9°C.
