Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova stars in a new lead role

Filming has begun in Northern Ireland for the new thriller ''No Way Off'', directed by Brian Kelly and featuring Maria Bakalova in the lead role, reports BTA.

The story takes place on Christmas night, when an exhausted single mother and her child fall asleep on a bus home. Hours later, they wake to find they have been kidnapped by the driver, who is wearing a Santa Claus mask. The journey through the wilderness turns into a tense struggle for survival.

Altitude is managing international sales and will present the project to buyers during the European Film Market (EFM), which runs as part of the Berlinale film festival until February 18.

Director Brian Kelly is known for the successful series Downton Abbey. The film also stars actors David Wilmot, Andrew Gower and Peter Mullan.
