According to data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI), Bulgaria’s average monthly gross wage reached 1,369 euros in the fourth quarter of 2025, which is an increase of more than 5% from the previous quarter.
Sofia recorded the highest average pay in December, at 1,914 euros.
Vratsa ranked second with an average wage of 1,300 euros, followed by the Sofia region with an average wage of 1,296 euros. The average wage was 1,284 euros in Varna and 1,139 euros in Burgas.
The NSI said that including annual bonuses, the average wage in the capital exceeded 2,000 euros in the fourth quarter.
The lowest average wages were recorded in Vidin (932 euros) and Kyustendil (953 euros).
