"Snezhanka" tops TasteAtlas’ “50 Best-Rated Dishes with Cucumber” ranking

The popular Bulgarian salad "Snezhanka" (Snow White) ranks first in TasteAtlas’ “50 Best-Rated Dishes with Cucumber” ranking. “Snezhanka” surpassed other iconic Balkan dishes such as the Greek ''Tzatziki'' and the Turkish ''Cacık''.

"Snezhanka," made with strained yogurt, cucumbers, garlic, dill, oil, and salt, received a rating of 4.3. The Greek ''Tzatziki'' is second with a rating of 4.2, while the Turkish ''Cacık'' is 11th with a rating of 4. The Bulgarian summer cold soup ''Tarator'' is 12th with a score of 3.9. Surprisingly, ''Shopska salad'' is absent, even though the ranking includes similar salads from Greece, Turkey, Serbia, Israel, Iran, and Afghanistan, reported BTA.

TasteAtlas food rankings are based on the ratings of the TasteAtlas audience, with a series of mechanisms that recognize real users and that ignore bot, nationalist or local patriotic ratings. As of January 24, 2026, 940,959 ratings have been recorded, of which 610,190 were recognized as legitimate.
