Bulgarians to lay flowers at the Vasil Levski memorial in Chicago

To mark the 153rd anniversary of the death of Bulgaria’s national hero, members of the Bulgarian community in Chicago will lay flowers and wreaths at the bust of Vasil Levski in front of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church St. Ivan Rilski (5944 W Cullom Ave, Chicago, IL 60634) on February 18th. A memorial service will then be held in the church at 12:30 p.m.

This commemorative event has been organised by the Rodolyubie Historical Circle at the Bulgarica Cultural Centre in Chicago, in collaboration with the Hayduti Brotherhood, the Pirin Macedonian Patriotic Organisation and other Bulgarian organisations.

All are welcome to attend the events and honour the memory of the Apostle of Freedom in the presence of representatives of the Bulgarian community in Chicago.
