Bulgarian wine exports have decreased in recent years, but export revenues have increased by 50%, indicating that domestic producers are selling their products at higher prices.

Krasimir Koev, Executive Director of the Executive Agency for Vine and Wine, announced this during the opening of the 11th Agra, Vinaria and Foodtech exhibitions at the Plovdiv International Fair on Tuesday, as reported by BNR correspondent Kremena Daneva.

There are currently 365 wineries operating in the country. According to official statistics, they processed almost 64 million litres of grapes from the 2025 harvest.

A positive trend is the growing interest among young people in the sector. Koev noted that 77% of those employed in the wine industry are under 50 years old.

More than 150 wineries have foreign ownership or participation, reflecting increased investor interest.\
