The interim PM is expected to propose a new cabinet

The candidate for interim prime minister is expected to propose a cabinet line-up today.

President Iliana Iotova is due to receive the nominee, Andrey Gyurov, at 12.00 p.m.

Gyurov, deputy governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, was handed the mandate by Iotova on 12 February, in accordance with the Constitution, to propose the composition of a caretaker government. He is expected to present his proposed cabinet during the meeting.

The interim government must ensure the organisation of free and fair parliamentary elections.
