Frosty morning with temperatures rising during the day, no precipitation

On Thursday, minimum temperatures in Bulgaria will range between minus 5°C and 0°C, lower in areas with snow cover. In Sofia, the morning temperature is expected to be around minus 4°C.

During the day it will be mostly sunny with scattered high clouds. In isolated lowlands, visibility will be reduced. The wind will shift from the south-southwest and strengthen as the day progresses. Maximum temperatures will range between 7°C and 12°C; in the capital -  around 8°C.

Along the Black Sea coast, there will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny conditions with no precipitation. A light to moderate southerly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be between 7°C and 10°C.

In the mountains, there will be scattered high clouds. A moderate south-southwesterly wind will blow, strengthening in areas near the northern slopes. The maximum temperature at 1,200 meters above sea level will be around minus 5°C, and at 2,000 meters - around minus 3°C.

On Friday, the wind will strengthen; in Eastern Bulgaria and in areas near the northern mountain slopes it will be strong and gusty, and temperatures will continue to rise.

Across the Balkans, clouds will increase over the western part of the peninsula with rainfall beginning, while in the eastern half it will remain mostly sunny, with cloudiness increasing during the second half of the day.

High temperatures will reach up to 17°C in Athens, 15°C in Belgrade, 5°C in Bucharest, and 11°C in Istanbul.
