Deputy prime minister Stoil Tsitselkov will be in charge of holding fair elections

Tasked with forming a caretaker government, the deputy governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, Andrey Gyurov, has presented his ministers to President Iliana Iotova.

The Foreign Affairs portfolio will be taken over by former SDS Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynsky.

The Interior Ministry will be headed by former investigator and judge Emil Dechev, who previously served as Deputy Minister of Justice.

The caretaker Minister of Justice and Deputy Prime Minister will be prosecutor Andrey Yankulov, known for handling high-profile cases.

The current regular government’s Minister of Defense, Atanas Zapryanov, will remain in office.

The caretaker Minister of Finance will be Georgi Klisurski, who has experience as a macroeconomist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and previously served as Deputy Finance Minister from “We Continue the Change.”

Deputy Prime Minister for European funds will be Maria Nedin, who was an adviser to former caretaker Deputy Prime Minister for EU funds Atanas Pekanov.

Heading the Ministry of Energy will be former GERB Energy and Economy Minister, and current district mayor in the capital Sofia, Traycho Traykov.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications will be led in a caretaker capacity by former leader of the DPS youth organization, Korman Ismailov.

Another DPS figure and former Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Dr. Hasan Ademov, will once again take over the portfolio.

Former Minister of Culture, conductor Maestro Nayden Todorov, will be responsible for cultural policy.

As Deputy Prime Minister in charge of ensuring fair elections, Stoil Tsitselkov, a member of the Public Council to the Central Election Commission, will be appointed.

After the presentation, President Iliana Iotova announced that she would issue decrees appointing the caretaker government and scheduling elections for April 19.
