Acting Social Minister Hasan Ademov said he would be uncompromising
towards all attempts to use social policy instruments to influence
the way citizens vote.
“I know that this
has happened over the years – if you didn’t vote in a certain
way, there would be no hot lunch, social or energy assistance.
Absolutely every case will be checked and if there is such behaviour,
appropriate measures will be taken,” the minister said.
He highlighted two
priority tasks of the caretaker cabinet and the Ministry of Labour and
Social Policy. The first is to ensure fair and transparent early
parliamentary elections and the second – to ensure and guarantee
the social rights of the most vulnerable citizens in the conditions
of a lack of budget.
The minister
recalled that the department has agencies, control functions and an
inspectorate to prevent influence and pressure on people’s
choices through the social system. "We will also engage the
National Association of Municipalities because some of the services
and support also go through the municipal administrations,"
Hasan Ademov added.
