Sofia hosts debate on protecting childhood in the digital era

A discussion titled 'Beyond the Screens: Preserving Childhood in a Digital World” is taking place in Sofia today. The event is organised by Sofia Tech Park, the Out Loud Foundation, and the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Bulgaria.

The forum will bring together representatives of institutions, experts, parents, and professionals in education, science, technology, and innovation, all of whom are united by the topic of raising, educating, and protecting children in a digital environment. The public discussion will focus on one of the key dilemmas of our time: when and how children should be introduced to technology and social media.

Special guests will include Joe Ryrie and Daisy Greenwell, the founders of the global Smartphone Free Childhood movement. The event will be opened by British Ambassador Nathaniel Copsey and Todor Mladenov, Executive Director of Sofia Tech Park.
