The
caretaker government is allocating 65 million euros for the holding
of early parliamentary elections, caretaker Prime Minister Andrey
Gyurov said.
He
added that the task before the cabinet was both simple and difficult.
Everyone knows what needs to be done, but there would be criticism of
the costs, he said.
"The truth is that elections are not an
expense. They are an investment in the legitimacy of power, in the
right of every Bulgarian, regardless of where they are, to be heard,"
Gyurov also said.
Funds
are also earmarked for updating voter lists to avoid "dead
souls," as well as for video surveillance. "Another part is
for opening polling stations abroad, no matter how unpleasant this
may be for some," the prime minister commented.
