The Ministry of Defense has provided 13 aid packages to Ukraine since the beginning of the war, the government’s public information portal reported.

The type and value of the assistance are classified, the statement says. The most recent package was approved on February 12, 2026. Four years ago, on February 24, 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine, unleashing the bloodiest and most destructive conflict in Europe since World War II.

Sofia is granting military aid to Kyiv under the Agreement with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the free-of-charge provision of armaments, equipment, and ammunition from December 2022. Parliamentary decisions show that, in addition to munitions, Ukraine has received armored vehicles, self-propelled artillery systems, and anti-aircraft missile systems.

At the beginning of 2025, Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov announced that more than EUR 200 million had been received as compensation from the United States and the European Union for the military aid to Ukraine. In 2026, Bulgaria is expected to receive additional compensation to the tune of approximately EUR 300 million.
