Caretaker Prime Minister participates in video conference on Ukraine

Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov has confirmed Bulgaria's position on consistent and strong support for Ukraine. He participated in a video conference of the leaders of the "Coalition of the Willing", the government press center has reported. The forum was hosted by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Gyurov pointed out the need for stable and long-term security guarantees. According to him, the EU's contribution must be well coordinated with transatlantic partners in order to guarantee a sustainable and just peace based on international law.

"Ukraine is not fighting only for its own freedom. It is fighting for the freedom of Europe and Bulgaria," Gyurov said at a meeting on the occasion of 4 years since the beginning of Russian aggression. The event brought together Bulgarians and Ukrainians living in the country on the square next to the St. Sophia Church.
