Two
people died and 19 were injured in 14 serious accidents that occurred
in the country over the past 24 hours, the press center of the
Ministry of Interior
reported. 39 minor road accidents were registered in Sofia.
Since
the beginning of the year, 61 people have lost their lives in road
accidents - six more than in the same period in 2025.
Over
the past 24 hours, a total of 46 fires were extinguished and
firefighters responded to 82 reports of accidents, the Main
Directorate Fire Safety and Civil
Protection reported. There were no deaths or injuries as a result of
the incidents. Eleven of the fires caused material damage to
residential buildings, vehicles, etc.
Over
the past 24 hours, 34 rescue activities and assistance operations
were carried out. Firefighters also assisted in transporting one
person to a medical facility.
Traffic
is heavy at the border checkpoints “Kapitan Andreevo” and
“Lesovo”, the Main Directorate of the Border Police announced.
On
the border with Greece, traffic is normal at all border crossings. On
the borders with Romania, the Republic of North Macedonia and Serbia,
traffic is also
normal
at all border crossings.
