PHOTO National Music Contest ‘Pesenna Palitra’

For the 12th consecutive year, the town of Karlovo is welcoming some of Bulgaria’s most talented young performers for the National Music Contest ‘Pesenna Palitra’, the municipality has announced. This year’s edition will take place on 28 February and 1 March at Vasil Karaivanov Hall in the municipal administration building, on the eve of Bulgaria’s National Day on 3 March.
The competition was founded and is directed by music educator Anita Ilieva, artistic director of the Karlovoice Music School.

Young performers will take to the stage before a panel of professional judges and a youth jury, who will assess the performances together in real time. According to the municipality, the competition is one of the country’s most popular music events, and participants value the opportunity to meet well-known pop singers and music educators.

One young Bulgarian talent whose career is closely linked to the ‘Pesenna Palitra’ contest is Dani Ilieva, who has previously been featured by Radio Bulgaria.
