No fatalities in road accidents or fires across the country in the last 24 hours

Nineteen people were injured in road accidents across the country in the past 24 hours, the Traffic Police reported.
Since the beginning of the month, 364 accidents have been recorded, resulting in 24 deaths and 460 injuries. Since the start of 2026, there have been 779 accidents, with 60 fatalities and 973 people injured. Compared to the same period in 2025, the number of road fatalities has increased by five.
As of 6 a.m. on Friday, freight traffic was heavy at the border crossings with Turkiye – “Kapitan Andreevo” and “Lesovo”, the Border Police reported. Freight traffic is heavy at the Kalotina border checkpoint with Serbia. Traffic is normal at all border checkpoints with North Macedonia, Romania and Greece.
In the past 24 hours, 67 fires were extinguished across the country, according to the General Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection. Fifteen of these fires caused material damage, including eight in residential buildings.
