The Sofia Police Directorate has introduced enhanced precautionary measures across the capital in connection with the conflict in the Middle East, said Chief Commissioner Lyubomir Nikolov.

"We are working closely with other institutions that have advance information, as well as intelligence relevant to our law enforcement activities concerning strategic sites," he said.

Police presence has been increased at sites with ties to Israel and the United States, including diplomatic facilities, educational centres and professional hubs.

Commissioner Nikolov added that security has been visibly strengthened at the city’s airports and other key transport hubs to ensure public safety during this period of heightened tension.
