Motorcyclist dies in crash near Plovdiv, seven people injured in accidents

One person has died and seven others were injured in eight serious traffic accidents across the country over the past 24 hours, the Traffic Police reported. A serious road incident with a fatality occurred around noon on March 3 on Road II-84 in the direction of Asenovgrad. A motorcyclist died at the scene after crashing into the rear of a passenger car traveling in front of him.
In Sofia, 21 minor road accidents were recorded over the past 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the year, 63 people have lost their lives in traffic accidents -two more compared to the same period in 2025.
Traffic is heavy for outbound freight vehicles at the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo border checkpoints, according to the Border Police. Traffic remains normal at all other border crossings to Romania, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Greece.
