The Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament, Raya Nazaryan, informed MPs that caretaker Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov had notified the National Assembly about issued orders authorizing the transit through Bulgarian airspace and the presence on Bulgarian territory of allied and foreign armed forces and equipment. The notifications were submitted to the parliamentary Defense Committee in accordance with the Law on the Transit and Stay of Allied and Foreign Armed Forces on the Territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The leader of the party Vazrazhdane, Kostadin Kostadinov, insisted that President Iliana Iotova convene the Consultative Council on National Security, stating that he does not believe American aircraft are in Bulgaria for NATO exercises.

The parties There Is Such a People and the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) also called on President Iliana Iotova to convene the security council because of the conflict in the Middle East.
