Five parties would enter a new Bulgarian parliament, according to a survey by Alpha Research on electoral attitudes ahead of the upcoming April 19 parliamentary elections. In first place is the coalition of former president Rumen Radev with 32.6%. Second is GERB-SDS with 19.7% support, followed by We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria with 12.6%.
In fourth place is DPS–New Beginning with 9.6% support. Vazrazhdane would receive 6.4% of the vote. Bulgarian Socialist Party remains below the threshold for entering parliament with 3.6%.
One-third of Radev’s supporters did not vote in the last election. The others are former supporters of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and various populist and nationalist formations, Genoveva Petrova from Alpha Research commented to bTV.
At present, fewer than 3 million people firmly intend to vote on April 19. Some 37% of respondents expect the elections to be fairer than the previous ones, while 33% believe they will be less fair.
