Grigor Dimitrov will face the world’s top-ranked tennis player, Carlos Alcaraz. Bulgaria’s best tennis player (World Rank No. 42) overcame Terence Atmane (France) in the first round of the Masters tournament in Indian Wells, USA. The victory came after a tough three-set battle: 6–4, 5–7, 6–4.
Grigor Dimitrov managed to get revenge on the French player, who had defeated him last week in Acapulco, and will now face the tournament’s top-ranked player.
“Horrendous day to play tennis. The court was great, but the wind made conditions terrible for us”, Dimitrov said in an on-court interview. The Bulgarian tennis player ended his streak of four consecutive losses in 2026.
