Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov held talks with the United Kingdom’s ambassador to Bulgaria, Nathaniel Copsey, focusing on bilateral relations, security cooperation and the situation in the Middle East, the government said.
During the meeting in Sofia, the two discussed ways to deepen the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the UK and reviewed their cooperation as NATO allies. According to the government, both countries are working together to strengthen security in the Euro-Atlantic area.
They also reviewed cooperation within the “Coalition of the Willing”, aimed at promoting international stability and the rules-based order.
Developments in the Middle East were also on the agenda. Bulgarian authorities are continuing their efforts to assist and evacuate Bulgarian citizens from the region amid ongoing tensions.
