Nineteen people injured in traffic accidents over the past 24 hours

Nineteen people were injured in 17 serious traffic accidents over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior reported. In Sofia, 30 minor road accidents and 4 serious accidents with four injured people were reported.

Since the beginning of 2026, 68 people have died in traffic accidents—two more than during the same period last year.

Over the last 24 hours, 104 fires have been extinguished, according to the Directorate General Fire Safety and Civil Protection. An 83-year-old man sustained burns to his face and arms due to a fire caused by work with a gas burner.

Traffic at the “Kapitan Andreevo” border checkpoint is heavy for outbound trucks, according to the General Directorate Border Police. Traffic at the borders with Romania, Greece, North Macedonia and Serbia is normal.
