Ten Bulgarians have been evacuated from Qatar and Kuwait

Acting Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynsky announced that ten Bulgarian citizens had been evacuated from Qatar and Kuwait by land last night. She confirmed that the evacuation of Bulgarians from the Middle East was proceeding extremely successfully.

The situation in Lebanon is tense and preparations are underway to evacuate people, Nadezhda Neynsky said. She added that embassies have been mobilised to ensure that, wherever Bulgarian citizens are located, they can be evacuated by land.

According to Minister Neynsky, the level of escalation in the Middle East is very high, but Bulgaria is not facing a direct threat. 'Our security services, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are in constant contact with our allies to ensure timely analysis,' she explained.

Meanwhile, training flights involving Bulgarian F-16 multi-role fighter jets took place at Sofia's Vasil Levski Airport. 'These flights are solely for the purposes of the Bulgarian Air Force and are not connected to events in the Middle East,' said the Ministry of Defence.
