One person died and three were injured in fires in the country over the past 24 hours. A woman died in a house in the Krumovgrad region. The cause of the fire has not been established and the case is under investigation. This was reported by the website of the General Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection. A man was injured in a fire on a terrace in a residential building in Pleven. After a gas cylinder ignited in Knezha, a man was also injured and transported to a hospital. In Varna, a woman was injured after a gas cylinder ignited on a balcony in a residential building. 93 fires have been extinguished for the past 24 hours. 21 fires have caused material damage, as ten of them were in residential buildings. There were 72 fires without material damage.
In
road accidents in the country over the past 24 hours, 15 people were
injured. There were no deaths, the traffic police reported. There
were 12 serious traffic accidents.
Since
the beginning of the month, nine people have died and 168 have been
injured in 137 accidents. Since the beginning of the year, 68 people
have died and 1,175 have been injured in 942 traffic accidents.
There
is intense traffic at "Kapitan Andreevo" border crossing
with Turkey at the exit for trucks, the Border Police reported.
Traffic is normal at the border crossings with Romania, Greece,
Serbia and North Macedonia.
From
8:00 on March 11, Wednesday, until 8:00 on March 12, Thursday,
traffic will be limited in the "Zheleznitsa" tunnel on the
"Struma" highway for testing and maintenance of the
tunnel's management system, the Road Infrastructure Agency announced.
The tests are conducted twice a year, the agency said. Traffic in
both directions will be rerouted via a detour route.
