Jafar Panahi’s film opens the 30th Sofia International Film Festival

The 30th anniversary edition of the Sofia International Film Festival opens with a screening of "It Was Just An Accident" by Iranian director Jafar Panahi — a Cannes Palme d’Or winner, who continues to work despite bans and censorship. The film has also been nominated for Best International Feature Academy Award and Best Original Screenplay Academy Award.

Audiences at Sofia Film Fest will have the chance to see over 150 feature films, documentaries, animations and short films by the end of March, with some screenings also taking place in Varna, Burgas and Plovdiv.
