Seventeen people injured in road accidents over the past 24 hours

Seventeen people were injured in road accidents over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior reported. In Sofia, 29 minor accidents and three serious accidents were recorded, leaving three people injured. Since the beginning of 2026, 69 people have died in traffic accidents, 1,193 have been injured, and there have been a total of 956 accidents.

One person was injured in a fire over the past 24 hours while trying to extinguish a burning car in Ruse, the Directorate General Fire Safety and Civil Protection reported. Firefighting teams have put out 98 fires.

Traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo border checkpoints for outbound freight vehicles. At the border with Romania, traffic is normal, but from 10:00 am to 15:00 pm, traffic in both directions over the Danube Bridge in Ruse will be suspended due to road repairs. Traffic is normal at all border checkpoints with Greece, North Macedonia and Serbia.
