The Minister of National Defense of Greece, Nikos Dendias, is visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov. "It was Greece's duty to respond to Bulgaria's request to support it in meeting the threats it faces as a result of the war in Iran," the Greek guest told journalists.

Since last week, a Patriot air defense system has been deployed in northern Greece, providing missile defence for a large part of Bulgaria. Two F-16 aircraft are also assisting in the security of Bulgarian airspace. The assistance follows a request by Bulgaria in response to the missiles launched by Iran towards Turkey on March 4. This morning, the Ministry of Defence announced that joint Bulgarian-Greek training flights of the air forces of the two countries will be held in Bulgaria.
