Popular singer and songwriter Robi presents the first song from his new album, which is expected to be released this year. In “Rano Prizori” (At the Break of Dawn), Robi continues to develop the musical direction characteristic of his recent projects, inspired by Bulgarian folklore:
“It started a few years ago with my work with Molec. Together we created quite a few songs that were heading in that direction, and we also worked with 'The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices choir. I kept going deeper into folklore and realized how positively this music affects me. Whenever I hear a folk song or a folk vocal, my whole body gets goosebumps. I wanted to create something of my own. My wife Plami has been playing the tapan for some time now and we managed to balance its sound very well with a more modern sound. Together with a few other people, we created ‘Rano Prizori”, says Robi.
Roberto Nikolov – Robi, Plamena Nikolova, Adrian Gugov, Denis Popstoev, and Teodor Haralambiev are the authors of “Rano Prizori”, which came to life during their participation in a songwriting camp. After returning to Sofia, they added a real folk choir and a live kaval performance to the recording. In this way, the original song took on its final form.

''Yes, I really don’t know folklore in depth — I didn’t grow up with it. And maybe that’s why the things I create are somewhat different, because I intertwine it with my own style. I’m not trying to copy already existing songs in any way. I believe they should remain exactly as they are. The greatest goal of art is to reach deep into your soul and bring out what’s there, without worrying about what people will think. I’m happy that I manage to balance my style with the folkloric sound without abusing the roots of folklore — and I hope people hear it that way too'', Robi went on to say.
Following the release of “Rano Prizori”, Robi continues working on his new album while also preparing for his first solo concert in Hall No 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, which he announced a few days ago
