The concert “From Norway to Bulgaria with the Solberg Brass Band”, organized by Bulgarian musician Georgi Deltchev, who lives and works in Norway, took place on March 15 in the town of Mjondalen, according to a Facebook post by the Embassy of Bulgaria in Oslo.

During the event, the exhibition “Bulgaria and the Mosaics” was also presented.

A welcoming address was delivered by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to Norway, Desislava Ivanova, who congratulated Georgi Delchev and the musicians of the Solberg Brass Band for their initiative. She noted that such appearances by Bulgarian artists living and working in Norway contribute to strengthening the reputation of the Bulgarian community.

The ambassador also recalled that on March 13, in the city of Stavanger, she had opened the fourth edition of the Stavanger International Piano Festival, organized by Bulgarian musician Kiril Kutin.

During the concert, the Solberg Brass Band was conducted by Georgi Delchev and the Norwegian conductor of Swedish origin Andreas Olsson. The programme featured Bulgarian and Norwegian works, including arrangements of Bulgarian folk songs such as Katerino Mome, Brala Moma Ruzha Tsvete, and Dilmano Dilbero.

The audience, which included members of the Bulgarian community from Oslo and the regions of Mjøndalen and Drammen, joined in singing the song Moya Strana, Moya Bulgaria by Emil Dimitrov. Later, Bulgarians from Drammen performed a traditional Bulgarian horo dance accompanied by the orchestra, with both Bulgarian and Norwegian spectators joining in.
