Border crossings remain open, and traffic is normal toward all neighboring countries. For another consecutive day, traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing for outbound freight vehicles heading to Turkey, the Border Police reported.

As of 6:00 a.m. on March 17, traffic is moving normally at all border checkpoints toward Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Romania. Traffic across the Danube Bridge Ruse-Giurgiu is being carried out in stages in a single lane due to scheduled major repairs of the facility.

Until March 20, traffic organization through the tunnels Vitinya Tunnel, Echemishka Tunnel, and Praveshki Hanove Tunnel on the Hemus Motorway will be adjusted in stages during nighttime hours, when traffic is lighter, to allow for cleaning of road signs.

One person was killed and 27 were injured in 22 serious road accidents across the country over the past 24 hours, the Traffic Police reported. Since the beginning of the year, 75 people have lost their lives in road accidents.
