Bulgaria's Caretaker Minister of Energy Traycho Traykov has informed the relevant Council of the European Union in Brussels about the measures taken by the Bulgarian government to support vulnerable consumer groups following the rise in fuel prices.

During discussions among EU energy ministers on the Action Plan for Affordable Energy, Traykov emphasized the importance of coordinated action at the European level to ensure security of supply and to reduce price pressures in the wake of the outbreak of the conflict with Iran.

He also recalled that as early as 2024, Bulgaria had alerted the European Commission to the issue of high energy prices and the need for greater infrastructure connectivity in order to lower end-user costs, Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) reported.
