Parliament Speaker Nazaryan confers US Embassy Charge d’Affaires McDowell

National Assembly Speaker Raya Nazaryan held talks with chargé d’affaires at the US Embassy in Sofia H. Martin McDowell. The meeting, requested by the US side, focused on the main areas and achievements in the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the United States. The meeting also looked at stronger cooperation on priority issues on the bilateral agenda.

“I believe that after the early parliamentary elections in Bulgaria, our country will continue to seek to maintain the upward trend in its strategic partnership with the U.S.”, Raya Nazaryan emphasized during the meeting.

Raya Nazaryan highlighted that Bulgaria attaches particular importance to enhanced cooperation with U.S. in areas such as new technologies and innovation, artificial intelligence, sustainability, connectivity, people-to-people contacts, as well as strengthening security in the Black Sea region and on NATO’s eastern flank, alongside close collaboration on the Western Balkans.
