Parliament adopts second extension of the budget

The National Assembly has approved the second extension law, which should be in effect until the adoption of a regular budget for 2026. The most intensive discussion in the plenary hall was over the expenses of municipalities. Local authorities will be able to use their own revenues, as well as to use the transitional balances in their budget, BGNES reported.

The extension law allows the state to take a loan to participate in joint European procurements for the defence industry. The possibility of the state guaranteeing loan agreements of Bulgartransgaz for a total value of nearly 92 million euros in connection with the implementation of the Vertical Gas Corridor, which connects Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Moldova, until the adoption of a regular budget was also approved.
