Bulgaria maintains its leading position in hunting tourism

Bulgaria continues to hold its leading position in hunting tourism and in the trophy quality of game species. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Nikolay Vasilev at the official opening of the 30th edition of the International Exhibition “Nature, Hunting, Fishing” 2026 and the specialized exhibition “Colorful Spring” at the Plovdiv Fair.

According to data for 2025, a total of 4,330 Bulgarian and foreign hunters took part in organized hunting tourism in the country, with revenues from the activity amounting to nearly €3.8 million.

“The analysis shows that stable game populations have been established in all hunting management regions across the country,” Vasilev said.

This year, more than 160 companies - producers and traders from 16 countries - are taking part in the exhibition, which will run until March 22.
