Bulgaria to call for temporary suspension of carbon emissions trading

Bulgaria will request a temporary suspension of the application of the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) while it is under review and until a mechanism for exemptions is developed.

This follows a decision unanimously adopted by Members of Parliament, granting the Council of Ministers a mandate to defend this position at the European Council meeting on March 19 and 20.
