Roads are treated and passable, icing is possible in places

Ahead of the Muslim holiday of Ramazan Bayramı, traffic at the “Kapitan Andreevo” border crossing at the exit for trucks remains intense, the Border Police has reported. On the border with Romania, traffic is normal at all border crossings. Crossing the Danube Bridge near Ruse is being carried out in stages in one lane, due to planned repairs. Passing through all border crossings to Greece, North Macedonia and Serbia is normal.

Road surfaces in the country are mostly dry, but icing is possible in places. All risky places have been treated and the roads are passable in winter conditions. Traffic in the “Vitinya”, “Echemishka” and “Praveshki Hanove” tunnels on the Hemus Highway is being carried out in stages in one lane due to cleaning of road signs and a temporary traffic organization has been created, the road agency warns. Two people died and eight were injured in 10 serious accidents in the country over the past 24 hours, the Traffic Police has reported. Since the beginning of the year, 77 people have lost their lives in road accidents.
