Although the name of the ZEBRA band is among the newest in Bulgarian music, it brings together renowned musicians from different generations. Actor Ivan Yurukov and bassist Petko Slavov are popular for their participation in a number of projects. Marin Lashev is a drummer, producer and sound engineer and the newest addition to the band is Angelina Saparevska - Angeli. She graduated from the National School of Music in Sofia with a degree in classical piano, but hopes to be a student at the Music Academy in the autumn, focusing on trumpet, which she has already mastered and uses in her original songs.

According to Ivan, who gave the name to the band, ZEBRA embodies the music of the group because the zebra is a wild animal that cannot be tamed and the stripe pattern of each zebra is different. And last but not least – the name is memorable.

The band already has several songs waiting for their studio realization and in the conversation with the musicians we naturally come to the question – what kind of music do they want to make and what do they think is missing in the Bulgarian music scene? Angeli answers:

"We have very interesting music and musicians and a colourful scene. But I think it still lacks honesty. Everyone is a little strange, but let's be authentic."

Petko Slavov adds that he looks for a good melody and meaningful lyrics not just in Bulgarian, but also in music from around the world:

"In our lyrics the inner world is present. Our music is directed inward, towards personal experiences that remain intimate in some way."

ZEBRA continues with recording new songs, in which all members of the band are authors. They can't wait to release them in an EP, which will also include their song “Neshto poveche” ("Something More") with music and lyrics by Ivan Yurukov. The arrangement is by the entire band.
