Bulgaria participates in Sea Shield exercise in the Black Sea

The Bulgarian Navy is participating in one of the largest exercises in the Black Sea region - Sea Shield 2026. For 30 days, military personnel from 13 countries with 48 surface and underwater vessels, 10 aircraft, land military equipment and unmanned aerial vehicles will play out a complex defence scenario, including the river waters along the Danube.

Coordination between the armed forces in the Black Sea region and the eastern flank of NATO will be practiced. The host of the exercise is Romania and the participants are from Canada, the USA, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Bulgaria.

The international cyber exercise “Bulgarian Rose 2026”, held at the cyber defence and management center, has ended, the Ministry of Defence announced. Participants completed tasks to detect, analyse, and neutralize cyber threats in a controlled environment and restore information systems, in coordination with the academic community and the technology sector.
