Next-generation software enables research laboratories in the life sciences to build their own teams within the system, removing traditional barriers to scientific work and facilitating information sharing. The development is led by the company “Lab Tread Bulgaria”, founded in 2023 and acquired a year later by Lab Thread UK.

The entrepreneurs’ efforts are focused on building a platform that combines bioinformatics and automation to digitize genetic and research laboratories worldwide. The challenge is significant, as many of them still rely on paper and fragmented systems. The company’s goal is to transform chaotic data and manual processes into a structured, traceable, and sustainable digital workflow in real time. This alternative to traditional solutions reduces administrative burden and allows scientists to focus on science.

A few days ago, the Bulgarian-British software company announced to the media the launch of a free version of its unified platform, which will be available to academic researchers and non-profit organizations worldwide. The platform has been developed as a fully integrated digital solution for biological research. The software provides a set of core modules designed to support early-stage research. Users will be able to quickly and easily implement precise data management plans in their laboratories.

The platform also offers advanced project management functionalities, allowing teams to digitally track and document their methods, data, DNA constructs, and experimental analyses through built-in communication and collaboration tools. It simplifies laboratory data management and supports compliance with funding guidelines, which are increasingly a requirement when applying to leading funding organizations around the world.
